Our village,
welcome in Wösendorf
Wösendorf is part of the municipality Weißenkirchen and is one of four villages.
The municipality Weißenkirchen in der Wachau constitutes together with the winegrower-villages Wösendorf, Joching and St. Michael the biggest winegrowing-municipality of the Wachau.
The historic city center of our village impresses with the idyllic view into the courtyards of the people. Marketplace, the church and narrow romantic streets as well as interesting buildings are the attributes of Wösendorf. Former monastery yards show the whilom importance of the village, which is a popular destination and treasured Heurigen-village nowadays.
A must-see is the late baroque church with its precious paintings on the ceiling (1784 - 1791) from the "Kremser Schmidt".
The Danube-cycle path (Passau - Vienna) crosses Wösendorf, where numerous guest houses are here for your stay.
The hiking trail "Welterbesteig Wachau" passes along the vinyards of our village.
